Since Facebook added a lot of features like replying to someone's comment and also the expression emojis, it was only a matter of time before a few similar features trickled down to WhatsApp. The new version is out for beta testing and will include new features like video calling, voice mailbox services, and even GIF support. Now, you can even quote your friend when your reply to your friends message. In case they try to go back on their word, you always have proof of their own words. Or your own.

How does it work?

So you feel the need to quote someone and want to forward that message, but also want to include your message. All it requires you is to select the message you want to forward, after which you will have to click a reply button. Your message will be sent with the selected message in quotes.

Single or Group?

It is available for both personal messaging as well as for groups. It would now be difficult for anyone to forget the promises they made, or you can shock your friends with the message you received from a private conversation.

Facebook in WhatsApp

It may not be the kind of 'reply' feature we were expecting Facebook to bring in WhatsApp, but it certainly makes it clear that the company wishes to incorporate anything they can to make WhatsApp a similar experience as the social network app. If the company had its way it could include stickers from the Facebook Messenger app soon to make conversations more fun.

What more?
It is also rumored that WhatsApp will now send and receive GIF files among groups and friends. Links will be shared to the users, but this feature is currently being tested only for iOS users.
